Evidence-Based Therapies
01. COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps people learn to identify and change the disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their thoughts and behaviors.
We at Hero Health Care are providing cognitive behavioral therapy to our clients by helping them in identifying their negative thought patterns, emotional responses and behaviors and by providing them with alternative patterns. Through CBT, we identify the faulty thoughts of clients, challenge those thoughts and replace those thoughts with realistic and achievable thoughts.
We are helping our clients in identifying their negative thoughts, practicing new skills, setting their goals, resolving their problems and in self-monitoring through cognitive behavioral therapy.

02. MOTIVATIONAL INTERVENTIONS FOR ADDICTION TREATMENT
Motivational Interventions play a crucial role during the early stages of treatment as it helps clients in the acceptance of treatment by providing them with the motivation to get sober.
Motivational Interventions help clients in deciding If they need help against their disease. It helps clients in overcoming the resistance for treatment. It encourages engagement with treatment through rapid, internally motivated change.
We at Hero Health Care are using Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) approaches to help motivate clients during their course of treatment.
Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) is an effective motivational intervention for clients with substance abuse. MET is a form of limited contact, non-confrontational, non-judgmental psychotherapy. MET is designed as client-centered and relevant to client’s personal interests. It helps in bringing the much-needed internal change and improves the client’s engagement and motivation to achieve recovery from addiction.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a motivational technique designed to help people find motivation to make a positive behavior change.
During the course of treatment of a client at Hero Health Care, we monitor and review changes in clients' behaviors. As the sessions progress, the client is provided with motivation for recovery from addiction and encouraged to get rid of illicit substances. We help clients through motivational interventions by adjusting their self-defeating thoughts and help them in making their life goals. Ultimately, this allows the client to pursue changes in behavior, stay sober and become a role model for others.

03. 12 -STEP FACILITATION THERAPY
12-Step Facilitation Therapy is based on the concept of 12-step mutual-help groups. We at Hero Health Care provide twelve steps facilitation therapy to our clients. It is a set of semi- structured therapies designed to help clients in overcoming addiction.
Three key lessons are delivered to clients during the twelve-step facilitation therapy.
• Acceptance
During the acceptance part of the therapy, we make our clients realize that drug addiction is a progressive chronic disease which no one has control over, that life has become unmanageable because of drugs, that only willpower is not enough to overcome the addiction. We make them realize the importance of abstinence and present it as an alternative to overcome addiction.
• Surrender
During this part of therapy, we realize our clients about the concept of surrendering themselves to a greater power and to improve their social interaction by engaging with other recovering clients. We present a plan for our clients to perform the recovery activities as guided by the 12-step program.
• Active Involvement
During this part, we encourage clients to actively involve themselves in activities which can improve their recovery. It includes attending recovery support groups and being a part of recovery-based activities and programs.
Serenity Prayer
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

04. FAMILY- BASED THERAPY
When a client gets addicted to substance use, it eliminates both “rule” and “role” from the family environment, creating gaps among the family members hence making it a dysfunctional family. We at Hero Health Care provide family-based therapy sessions to recover and resolve these family affairs and to enhance the recovery capital.
A family's involvement in the treatment process enhances the outcome. Family-based services ensure that family functioning adjusts to and positively influences the recovery of a client.
We at Hero Health Care provide family education, family support groups and family counselling as part of treatment. We are using multiple approaches during the family-based prevention, which are mentioned below:
• Behavioral Couples Therapy (BCT)
• Multisystemic Therapy (MST) for adolescents
• Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) for adolescents
• Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) for adolescents
During the course of treatment of our client, we identify and support the change of family patterns that works against recovery (family conflicts, enabling behavior). We provide the family members with the knowledge to learn and practice new skills to improve their interactions to have long-term sustainable impact on positive youth developmental outcomes. These preventive measures positively benefit not just the enrolled client, but the whole family-parents, siblings.
Upon the completion of treatment, we prepare the family for what to expect from the client and for them to adjust their expectations. We also educate them about the relapse warning signs and what they need to do in order to prevent it from happening. We also enable the family members to make necessary changes in their lives and to present themselves as role models for the client.
